Zoomlion is launching four new machines designed to compete directly with well-known brands.
The Australian earthmoving industry is highly competitive, with operators demanding machines that match or exceed the performance of established brands.
Zoomlion has studied the market closely, identifying gaps and refining its machines to align with what Australian contractors expect — whether it’s power, efficiency, or ease of serviceability.
The manufacturer’s latest equipment integrates key innovations seen in competitor models while offering improved fuel efficiency, advanced hydraulics, and smart control systems.
Zoomlion Sales Manager for Victoria/South Australia/Tasmania, Dave Valquez, said the company aims to ensure its machines meet the rugged demands of Australian terrain and job sites.
“With this market-driven approach of having equipment built for durability, productivity, and operator comfort, these machines will challenge the status quo and provide a serious alternative in the Australian earthmoving sector,” he said.
ZE27GU and ZE36GU – power meets precision
The Zoomlion ZE27GU and ZE36GU excavators are upgraded versions of the ZE26GU and ZE46GU, designed to meet the demands of Australian operators.
Recognising the need for greater operator comfort, Zoomlion has increased the cabin space while maintaining the same weight as the predecessors.
Dave said the 2.7 tonne and 3.6t excavators were built for domestic, infrastructure, and civil applications, offering improved maneuverability and functionality.
“Key upgrades include enhanced hydraulics, refined control systems, and optimised fuel efficiency, ensuring superior performance on diverse job sites,” he said.
“By keeping the weight identical while improving overall functionality, Zoomlion delivers greater comfort, efficiency, and precision without compromising transportability or operational ease.”
The ZE27GU and ZE36GU are currently on their way to the Australian market, with some already arrived.
ZE55GU and ZE145GU – a new era of versatility
The ZE55GU and ZE145GU are purpose-built for the Australian market, addressing the increasing demand for zero-swing excavators.
“With urban and infrastructure projects requiring greater flexibility in confined spaces, these machines deliver the perfect balance of power, agility, and control,” Dave said.
The ZE55GU (5.5t class) is an efficient and compact solution for urban construction, landscaping, and utility work, allowing operators to work close to structures without compromising stability.
The ZE145GU (14.5t class) is built for large-scale infrastructure, civil projects, and detailed excavation work, providing powerful digging force, high breakout torque, and smooth hydraulic operation.
“Both machines integrate advanced control systems, enhanced operator visibility, and fuel-efficient engines to ensure optimal productivity,” Dave said.
Reinforced structures and intelligent hydraulic design allow for precise handling, reduced operating costs, and longer machine life, making the ZE55GU and ZE145GU top choices for contractors demanding versatility and reliability.
Both the ZE55GU and ZE145GU are due within Australia between Q2 and Q3 of 2025.
ZT120V Skid Steer – the heavy lifter
The ZT120V is the largest tracked skid steer in Zoomlion’s range, offering unmatched strength and durability.
“Recognising Australia’s diverse and challenging terrain, particularly in wet or uneven conditions, this machine’s tracked design ensures superior stability and traction, making it ideal for landscaping, forestry, and construction,” Dave said.
“While Zoomlion traditionally focuses on wheeled skid steers, the ZT120V introduces versatility to the fleet, addressing the evolving needs of the Australian market.
“Customers benefit from improved performance in tough conditions and cost savings through enhanced fuel efficiency and lower maintenance requirements.
“The ZT120V brings more reliable lifting capacity, precise control, and increased operational uptime — ideal for customers seeking maximum productivity in diverse environments.”
The ZT120V is due to hit our shores in Q3 of 2025.
The fantastic four
Dave said these four new machines play a key role in addressing the evolving needs of the Australian earthmoving market.
“Zoomlion has shown a strong commitment to listening to customer feedback, creating equipment tailored to the unique requirements of local operators,” he said.
“By closely studying market trends and competitor offerings, Zoomlion ensures its machines are designed to deliver superior performance, efficiency, and durability on Australian job sites.
“Focused on fuel efficiency, reduced downtime, and cutting-edge technology, these machines not only enhance operational efficiency but also support sustainability goals.
“Zoomlion’s dedication to developing cost-effective machinery that boosts productivity makes them a reliable choice for contractors.
“By understanding and meeting the specific needs of Australian contractors, Zoomlion continues to deliver value beyond expectations.”
