Tutt Bryant Group and Yanmar Construction Equipment celebrate 35 years of “Solutioneering Together”

1979 was a year of many milestones – Margaret Thatcher was elected as the first female Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Sony introduced the “Sony Walkman” and the Tutt Bryant Group signed a 3 year agreement to begin distribution of Yanmar Construction Equipment in Australia.

35 years on and thousands of mini excavators, wheel loaders and carriers later, Tutt Bryant and Yanmar’s relationship continues.  As it stands, Tutt Bryant still operates as the exclusive and national distributor of Yanmar Construction Products throughout Australia which is testament to the strength of the relationship, the quality and workmanship of the Yanmar product and the interaction of all at Tutt Bryant with their customers.

Yanmar over the years has stood at the forefront of excavation equipment design, pioneering various functions and designs now considered a mainstay in many types of excavation equipment. When first introduced, Yanmar’s flagship model was a canopy YB1200 with Steel Tracks. This was a very basic style mini excavator and came then with a factory warranty of 6 months which was the industry norm.

Today, Yanmar offers a range of 9 different models to the Australian market ranging from 1 to 10 tonners fitted with many different options, some of which include: Rops and Fops canopy or cabin models, steel tracks or rubber tracks, auxiliary hydraulics, patten select controls and on board engine monitoring.

In terms of design, some of the biggest hydraulic and operation features that Yanmar has established over the years include; triple hydraulic pumps to allow for various functions to operate simultaneously, zero tail swing excavators, offset tracks for better Stability, spring steel sliding guards for Cylinder Rods and the exclusive Yanmar designed Hydraulic Quick Hitch.

Of particular note was the introduction of the Yanmar Zero Tail Swing Range (Vio Series) in 1994. Zero tail swing excavators provided users with the ability to work up against and dig parallel to walls or similar structures, revolutionising the use of mini excavators on construction sites all over Australia. This zero tail swing technology has been replicated by many other excavator manufacturers over the years, however Yanmar still stands as one of the few companies that offers a complete range of models from 1.7 tonne to 8 tonne.

Over the past 35 years, Tutt Bryant Equipment and Yanmar Construction Equipment have fostered a relationship built on quality performance products and quality after sales service and will continue to do so in the years to come.

Congratulations to Tutt Bryant Equipment and Yanmar Construction Equipment on this milestone!
