Trimble Siteworks Machine Guidance Module is redefining the construction landscape by offering unparalleled precision and cost-effectiveness for smaller contractors, delivering a transformative solution that maximises efficiency and accuracy on the job site.

In a recent interview with EEM, SITECH Solutions’ Sales Manager, Grant Hibburd, shares insights into the new Trimble Siteworks machine guidance module, a game-changing technology in the construction industry for smaller contractors.

Highlights the module’s versatility, Hibburd says: “The new Trimble Siteworks machine guidance module allows a rover to be attached to an excavator, enabling a smaller contractor to get into machine control easily and at a cheaper price point.”

Unveiled by Sitech Solutions at the Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo in April for the first time outside of CONEXPO, the Trimble Siteworks module stands out as a significant milestone in construction innovation.

According to Hibburd, one of the module’s standout features is its adaptability.

“The big selling point is that you can take it off the machine, make it handheld, use it as a general rover to run around and pick up general GPS points, or you can attach it to your machine and dig to design within a 20mm accuracy,” he says.

The technology comprises a Trimble Smart Antenna and a sensor on the excavator’s digger, measuring the angle of the bucket with precision. This allows contractors to calculate the exact location of the bucket teeth, ensuring accurate and efficient excavation.

Furthermore, the Trimble Siteworks Software, enhanced with the machine guidance module, also allows for seamless transitions between on-machine operations and surveying in a matter of minutes, facilitating tasks such as grade checking, layout, and machine operations across various sites.

The Trimble Siteworks Machine Guidance Module is positioned as a cost-effective solution for contractors looking to digitise their construction sites. The system’s affordability, coupled with its portability, makes it an attractive two-in-one solution for machine guidance and layout.

Key benefits of the Trimble Siteworks Machine Guidance Module:

  1. Fast and flexible: Switch between machine guidance and surveying in minutes
  2. Reliability and accuracy: Combine data collection and Trimble machine guidance systems for precise results
  3. Ergonomics and ease of use: Enjoy the user-friendly interface of the Trimble Siteworks software
  4. Ruggedness: Built to withstand extreme job site conditions
  5. Enhanced ability: Easily create projects in the field
  6. Import and export: Seamlessly import and export design data in LandXML format.

The Trimble Siteworks Machine Guidance Module is not just a powerful surveying tool on and off the machine; it represents a shift towards more affordable and flexible construction technology solutions, enabling contractors to achieve higher efficiency and accuracy in their projects.
