The Australian Construction Equipment Expo was to be held on the 14-16 May 2015 at Eagle Farm Racecourse in Brisbane and has been postponed to 2016.
The construction industry in Queensland is currently facing some economic challenges, and the Construction and Mining Equipment Industry Group (CMEIG) along with Exhibitions and Trade Fairs (ETF) acknowledging the current state of the Queensland market has taken the decision to postpone ACE EXPO Queensland from 2015 until 2016.
According to a recent report published by the Queensland Major Contractors Association (QMCA) and Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) there will be resurgence in major projects from 2016/17, rising further through to 2018/19. This report predicates a $2.5 billion surge in the industry creating new opportunities for both construction companies and skilled workers.
Luke Kasprzak Portfolio Director at ETF says “While we believe the future for the show is excellent, we understand from feedback received from the construction and mining equipment industry, that postponing the show is the best option in the interests of maximising its success and in the interests of exhibitors”. Luke continues, “At this stage the venue is unable to confirm the preferred dates, but we expect to have that resolved shortly, following which we will continue to work with CMEIG to finalise details and inform those involved accordingly”.
CMEIG and ETF are committed to delivering an exhibition that offers real relevance and value to both exhibitors and visitors.
