Whether it’s rejuvenation of old road base rocks, or the reduction of new oversize material, the Broons Grid Roller is capable of splintering and cracking product as large as 200mm minus into the perfect road building product. With every run the grid rings further reduces the rock size until you meet the grading required. Once complete a grader distributes the material ready for compaction. This is also the domain of the grid roller because with every pass over the material the 14 tonnes of weight can submerge the freshly crushed gravel into a moistened pavement surface. This creates a structurally sound gravel pavement, requiring only a multi tyre roller to smooth the surface.
Unique to the Broons grid roller on hire is an offset hydraulic drawbar. Controlled from the cabin of the tractor, this allows you to shift the roller off centre to avoid the tractor running directly over the windrow. This results in a smoother ride for the operator and prevents accidental damage under the tractor.
