RDO Equipment Australia is planning to move its local dealership to FKG Group’s Aatlis Precinct in a strategy to provide a network of world-class facilities across key regional locations.
The trusted John Deere and Vermeer equipment dealer has a rich history spanning nearly 60 years in Toowoomba. This move will align with other leading regional and agribusinesses situated in the precinct.
RDO Equipment CEO Phil Canning said the investment shows the company is committed to the wider Darling Downs region.
“Toowoomba is the heart of regional south-east Queensland, and RDO Equipment is proud to be a part of and support the region’s diverse agricultural production and infrastructure developments,” Canning said.
“We’re extremely excited to be building a new state of the art workshop and dealership in this key distribution hub. We’ll be ideally situated to allow for the growth of the construction side of our business and respond to current and future needs and opportunities in the agricultural and infrastructure sectors.”
The RDO Toowoomba dealership, one of RDO Equipment’s largest, is unique in its broad and deep customer base. This extends from lawn mower customers to large agricultural and, more recently, construction equipment. Besides John Deere and Vermeer, the Toowoomba customers are offered a suite of innovative, complementary brands including Horsch, Manitou and Kuhn. The new purpose-built facilities, designed by FKG, will hold a growing range of construction, agriculture, turf and utility equipment to cater for the needs of all its customers.
“Partnering with our customers lies at the core of who we are. Our new location in the Aatlis Precinct, with large, modern facilities, and conveniently situated for surface and air transport, will place us in an optimal position to continue to offer our customers the service they need now and well into the future,” Canning said.
The new building will also house support staff currently located away from the branch.
“We have a dedicated team that supports our 29 locations with crucial functions in parts and service, accounts and finance, human resources, training, precision agriculture and IT,” Canning said. “Nearly 50 of them are based in Toowoomba and are looking forward to moving into their own area in the new facilities.”
Jack Gardner, Group Manager of FKG Group’s Development arm, said his team are proud to be working with RDO Equipment on their expansion and relocation to the Aatlis Precinct.
“We’re very pleased to have attracted such a significant national business like RDO Equipment just when we had released Stage Two of our industrial land subdivision, and we hope that their presence in the Precinct will attract other similar businesses,” Gardner said.
“RDO Equipment fits perfectly with our vision for the Precinct to secure national and international brands needing large land holdings to expand their business operations, right here in Toowoomba. This contributes to the creation of continued growth and job opportunities for the region.”
FKG will break ground on RDO Equipment’s new Toowoomba branch towards the end of the year, which is expected to be completed by early 2024.
