Pickles take what we do, do it better and do it anywhere

Pickles

Pickles is Australia’s true local and national remarketing partner. With 23 branches nationwide, over 900 staff and over 50 years’ experience, Pickles is an expert in asset remarketing.

With thousands of assets available weekly across industrial, vehicles, salvage and general goods, and over 150 auctions a month as well as numerous items available at a fixed price, you can always find what you need. Pickles add value at every step of the way and are dedicated to unlocking value for vendors and delivering a superior purchasing experience for buyers.

From what started as a single stock and station agent in Moree, NSW in 1964, Pickles has grown exponentially and built a reputation as a trusted auction and valuation company. Their quest for competitive excellence begins and ends with an unyielding commitment to ethical conduct in all their key relationships. Pickles is the only auction house in Australia to be accredited with the AS/NZS 4801:2001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.

Pickles offer a personalised approach and a tailored solution. Their extensive experience combined with the lowest staff turnover rate in Australia means they have the knowledge and expertise to deliver a customised remarketing strategy utilising all of their sales channels. They offer both traditional auctions with genuine auctioneers as well as online or live auctions. Customers can also buy equipment at a fixed price or through tenders/EOI.

Last year alone, Pickles conducted numerous large-scale auctions, including MAAS, Transtex and NQ Group, selling millions worth of equipment for their vendors and connecting people to highly sought after assets.

MAAS was a huge one-day physical auction held to dispose of over 300 assets including 120 pieces of civil and earthmoving equipment. Pickles provided a complete asset remarketing solution which resulted in the largest scale of its kind in NSW. Their local knowledge and national reach meant Pickles were able to deliver exceptional returns for the MAAS Group.

Pickles facilitated a successful remarketing strategy that generated awareness, interest, attendance and maximised profit; sound market advice; coordinated logistics and transport of assets; asset valuations and thorough sale preparations; local branch resource and management, site acquisition and set up of onsite facilities; national marketing and advertising campaign covering all facets of the media; weekly reporting; and a hassle-free and professional service.

The auction was streamed live giving their customers the opportunity to view, bid and buy assets anywhere at any time within Australia. Pickles provided accurate appraisals and detailed condition reports as well as staff on-hand to guide customers through the purchasing experience. Exceptional results were realised with 2000+ people onsite and a 100 per cent clearance rate.

Other auctions of note were Transtex and NQ Group. Transtex was a massive one-day event with over 100 assets including limited edition Kenworth trucks. Major vendors included Paccar, Bendigo Bank, Westpac, Commonwealth Bank, National Bank of Australia and JagTrans. NQ Group was also held over a single day with hundreds of assets being auctioned off. Pickles achieved a 100 per cent clearance rate. Speciality items included cranes which went for over $1 million each. Again, Pickles facilitated specialised solutions that exceeded vendor expectations and connected buyers to products.

Committed to innovation, Pickles has just opened their 23rd branch in Victoria.

Altona North is the future of their Industrial Division comprising 44,000 square metres of undercover space. It is Australia’s largest undercover industrial auction facility and they’re excited to be furthering their reach and providing a better customer and vendor experience. Pickles has a truly national footprint with branches right around Australia ensuring customers have access to a range of stock, all presented in the best light.

They employ a team of over 900 people, and with the lowest staff turnover in the industry, their clients benefit from their passion, expertise and years of experience.

Pickles are also proud to announce the acquisition of Hassalls late last year. This will strengthen Pickles commitment and offerings to vendors, suppliers and buyers alike. With branches strategically located near Australia’s mining hubs in Queensland, Western Australia and New South Wales, Pickles is excited to be creating new opportunities, expanding their expertise and skill sets as well as providing customers with more choice.

Bruce Maclennan, CEO of Pickles said this is an exciting time for both companies.

“Acquiring Hassalls creates the strongest resource and mining team in the country.

We will deliver a streamlined service for our vendors and buyers by opening up marketplaces across Australia and internationally. Using our dominant national footprint in conjunction with our unique multiple sales channels, we will deliver on our vision to take what we do, do it better and do it anywhere”.

Pickles is proud to partner with the Diesel, Dirt & Turf Expo for the third year running conducting the feature auction.

Our 100 per cent clearance rate speaks for our highly experienced team and we can’t wait to be back at it again. We’ll have over 100 machines displayed and ready to be auctioned off.
