Custom design
Recently, OTR designed and manufactured a specific six-piece rim to replace a customer’s five-piece rim configuration.
“Whilst the six-piece rim design isn’t a new concept to the rim and tyre industry, it wasn’t available for the customer’s machine,” Greg said.
“The OTR solution was the design and manufacture of a specific six-piece rim for the customer. The purpose of changing from a five-piece to a six-piece configuration is to reduce downtime during the tyre changing process.
“More important is the improvement in safety aspects for tyre service personnel during tyre changes.
“These improvements are what today’s end-users are looking for: productivity gains with improved safety.”
