Mobile app for Standards Australia

Standards Australia has released its new mobile app – helping industries prioritise safety with a low-cost solution.

The new subscription mobile app is designed with user feedback from tradespeople, technicians and workers who want the ability to review standards in real time.

Standards Australia is the nation’s peak non government, not-for-profit standards organisation. Standards are the documents that set out specifications, procedures and guidelines that aim to ensure products, services, and systems are safe, consistent, and reliable.

Aiming to be a tool for those who want to look up these standards on the go, this mobile app gives users the ability to access publications offline when working on-site or remote areas, Standards Australia announced.

Australian Construction Industry Forum (ACIF) executive director James Cameron said this was a big win for the industry, and the result of a considerable amount of advocacy to make Australian Standards more affordable and accessible.

“Bundles of standards relevant to the construction industry can be purchased for around $100,” he said.

Users of the app will be able to subscribe to commonly referenced publications for different industries across the Australian Standards catalogue – accessing them via the mobile app.
