JCB Take the Lead On-Site Dumper Safety With All-New Range

JCB is pleased to be launching a completely new range of site dumpers in Australia, designed and built in-house, with a capacity from 1 to 9 tonnes.

Leading an industry-wide focus on site dumpers, JCB’s new line-up takes site dumper safety to a previously unachievable level, meeting the needs of contractors, civil engineers, ground workers, highways and housebuilders.

JCB’s line-up of site dumpers are easy  to operate, reliable, durable and quick to turnaround for rental and civil construction companies. The line-up includes a 1 tonne high-tip, 3 tonne swivel tip with a Hydrostatic transmission, 6 tonne swivel tip and a 9 tonne front tip model.

Material Movers

JCB’s 6 tonne swivel-tip dumper, along with the range-topping 9 tonne front-tip machine, are all offered with a foldable ROPS/FOPS Level II frame as standard. The 9 tonne model is also available in cabin configuration.

These machines are equipped with a front camera to increase visibility, complying with ISO 5006:2017, along with a sequenced drive-inhibit system to ensure that operators are correctly seated and secure before driving. An optional green LED beacon, indicating lap belt engagement, is available, along with a skip raised alarm, high visibility painted steps and grab handles, rear view mirrors and LED working lights.

All of JCB’s larger site dumper models are powered by the company’s driveline, which is already well proven in the company’s market leading Backhoe Loaders and Telehandlers, utilising the 55kW JCB EcoMAX diesel engine, which is Stage IIIB/Tier 4 Final compliant with no requirement for after- treatment. This drives through JCB axles and JCB Power shuttle transmissions, providing full vertical integration of components for maximum productivity and performance.

All-round service access is possible, through a tilting seat base and an opening rear canopy, increasing access and fleet flexibility

Lighter Loads

JCB has a site dumper solution for every industry requirement, from the smallest  1 tonne high-tip to 3 tonne front and swivel-tip models. Designed and built with JCB durability and reliability, these smaller models also benefit from a folding ROPS frame and a start-inhibiting seat switch.

Both the 1 tonne and 3 tonne machines have a hydrostatic driveline, proven JCB by Kohler diesel engine, which share the same technology as their compact mini excavator’s and skid steers. This combination delivers low cost, ease of service and fast turnaround for rental users. The dumpers feature a protected rear end design, with number  plate and road lights positioned away from potential danger. An all-steel construction reduces repair costs and provides improved durability, the 3 tonne models feature the same 360° service access as the larger machines in the range, with swivel tip variants utilising an effortless skip locking design.

Market Leading

JCB’s site dumper range offers customers a completely new range of innovative, reliable and easy to operate machines, which take site safety to a new level. The JCB site dumper line-up provides the perfect complement to JCB’s earthmoving equipment.

JCB CEA Product Manager Glenn McLeod said, “The introduction of this product range perfectly integrates with our current Australian model line-up and will offer a one-stop shop for those customers wanting to keep their fleet uniform with common driveline componentry. By deciding to design and manufacture its own range, JCB have taken the opportunity to innovate and to move the market forward to a new level of safety and productivity. This is good news  for everyone in the construction industry. We believe that the JCB site dumper range offers a safer solution for customers and it is a clear demonstration of JCB’s innovative approach to machine design and development.”
