JCB has introduced the JCB 525-60E, a compact telehandler, as part of its fully electric E-TECH range.
The model emphasises reduced emissions and noise, with the aim of improving sustainable construction practices.
Cleaner and quieter
The 525-60E operates with a diminished environmental footprint, making it suitable for urban areas, air quality-sensitive regions, and enclosed spaces. It omits CO2, NOx, and particulate emissions at the point of use, adhering to strict emissions standards.
The electric nature of the 525-60E results in quieter operation on construction sites, making it suitable for noise-sensitive areas and extended working hours.
Performance and efficiency
According to JCB, the 525-60E offers performance levels comparable to traditional telehandlers. It is powered by a 24kWh lithium-ion battery, capable of operating throughout a typical workday on a single charge. Features include constant 4WD, three steering modes, and both 240V and 415V charging capacities.
Lower operating costs are another advantage of the 525-60E, due to its maintenance-free battery, decreased energy use, and longer service intervals. JCB’s LiveLink telematics system is included for efficient operational cost management.
Safety remains a priority. The 525-60E includes adaptive load control to counteract tipping risks, reduced noise for improved on-site communication, and a cab certified with ROPS and FOPS for operator safety. Enhanced visibility and safety systems are integrated to increase workplace safety.
JCB’s vision
The 525-60E represents JCB’s commitment to electrification in construction equipment, emphasising efficiency with features like dual electric motors and regenerative hydraulics.
Tim Burnhope, JCB’s Chief Innovation Officer, said: “The launch of the JCB 525-60E Loadall takes equipment electrification further into general construction, industrial, and agricultural markets, offering a zero-emissions load handling solution with no compromise in performance or productivity. We are very excited about the prospects for this machine.”
