Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo prepares for second year

The outstanding success of the Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo earlier this year surprised many observers who were unsure that the earthmoving industry would be able to stage and run its own event.

In its record-breaking debut, the National Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo attracted over 30,000 visitors throughout its three days.

The park-like grounds of the Penrith Panthers will again host this national event that has grown substantially, both in the numbers and scope of exhibitors. The Expo dates for 2017 are Friday 21, Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 April 2017.

The inaugural event proved that a group of dedicated industry individuals and suppliers could manage a highly successful event that not only generated a huge volume of sales, but also entertained whole families throughout the three days of the Expo.

As an industry-funded and managed event, exhibitors have benefited from affordable exhibition spaces, while a well considered mix of family entertainment, attractions, good quality food, free entry and ample parking encouraged people to stay and explore the many equipment innovations on display.

INDUSTRY SUPPORT

Event organiser Steve Zivkovich says, “We are particularly pleased by industry suppliers who have stepped forward with major sponsorships to help make the event a success. For example, Kobelco Construction Machinery Australia has shown its support for Diesel, Dirt and Turf through its Gold sponsorship.

Doug McQuinn, Kobelco general manager, sales and service, says, “Kobelco Construction Machinery Australia is proud to be the gold sponsor of the National Diesel Dirt and Turf 2017. We consider this as an important event in NSW that needs the support of major contributors.

“This is a significant event for Australia’s construction equipment industry, and Kobelco is pleased to lend support to this important initiative. It’s a good opportunity for us to showcase our range of excavators to the public. We will also have some exciting major new product releases at DDT 2017.

We look forward to seeing everyone visit us at Site 83A.”

MORE THAN EARTHMOVING

Living up to its name as more than an earthmoving and construction equipment expo, exhibitors such as Discount Tractors will be offering visitors a chance to win a slasher and farm trailer by coming up with a true blue Australian tractor name.

The company will also be showcasing its GeoGrid, a perfect medium on which to run your car, truck, ute, tractor, excavator, implements or provide hard standing for livestock. This lightweight HDPE ground protection and reinforcement system provides tough and durable surfaces for car parks, driveways, pathways, access roads and construction sites.

CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT

Tecpro will be showing its V12S Dust Cannon, designed and manufactured in Italy. The V12S is a silent dust suppression solution that’s sufficiently quiet to use in city demolition sites and durable enough to use in mining and materials handling applications.

The V12S features centrally located nozzles with ceramic inserts that generate a highly effective fine mist to bind dust particles at their source. In windy conditions, the location of the nozzles within the jet stream protects the droplets from being blown off course.

Of course, the greatest benefit of the V12 Silent Dust Cannon is its quiet operation, which boasts 67dB-55dB at 20 metres. To put that into context, a typical lawnmower measures 90dB. That means the V12 Silent Dust Cannon is ideal for suppressing dust at city demolition sites by operating within most noise level requirements.

PRIZES FOR OPERATORS

There will be the ever-popular and highly contested operators’ challenges where big prize money and trophies may be won; while getting to see innovative machinery and chatting to the people behind the design of the different machines systems and services on offer.

The national Diesel, Dirt & Turf Expo was established in 2015, and is managed and operated by representatives of the Australian earthmoving equipment industry. The objective of the Expo is to help construction contractors keep up to date with the latest technology in earthmoving, construction, transport, turf care and other public space maintenance equipment. The Expo is now in its second year and has quickly become Australia’s leading earthmoving and construction industry event.
