DDT 2021

Gold sponsor Komatsu will have strong presence at DDT

As a Gold Sponsor of this year’s Diesel Dirt & Turf (DDT) Expo at Sydney Dragway in April, Komatsu will have a major presence, including a wide range of machines and services on display – plus a large demonstration area where licensed operators will have a chance to drive equipment.

With Komatsu celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2021, it will showcase its innovative Smart Construction technology solutions for project planning and management – which integrates with its intelligent Machine Control (iMC) excavators and dozers, along with other makes and types of equipment – as well as how its advanced Information Communications Technology (ICT) systems benefit customers.

Equipment on show at Komatsu’s stand and demonstration area includes a selection of utility and construction excavators, small and mid-size wheel loaders, an iMC dozer and excavator, and the latest GD655-7 grader.

Chris Moroz, Komatsu’s NSW Sales Manager, said the DDT Expo was an ideal opportunity to talk to owner-operators, tradespeople and smaller contractors who typically did not attend other types of shows. “DDT, with its strong family and community emphasis, plus the fact that it’s held over a weekend, means we can meet and talk to visitors who are usually too busy to visit an exhibition during the week or in the city,” he said. “We’ve seen this event really develop over the past four years, and it’s a great show for smaller contractors, where we can showcase our technology, and let owner-operators and tradies experience our equipment at first hand, and try it out. “That’s why we’ve taken on Gold Sponsorship of the DDT Expo this year, and we look forward to talking to a wide cross-section of the construction community about what we can offer them. “For us, it’s a way that we can better support the smaller construction and building contractors in our industry, and where they can come and see our latest innovations in Smart Construction and other technology,” said Moroz.

“And in addition to our static equipment display, visitors will be able to operate a mix of machines in a large demonstration area.

“Equipment they’ll be able to try out will include our iMC D61EXi-24 dozer and PC210LCi-10 excavator, as well as a PC18MR-3 mini excavator and a PC55MR-5 excavator. “Anyone who’d like to check out our machine range, and have a go at operating our latest technology will be very welcome on our stand.
“We’re also hoping to have a strong contingent of local government representatives attend the Expo, so we can show them the benefits of our latest grader technology.”

Moroz said that while Komatsu would have a strong focus on equipment at its stand, it would also be promoting the advantages of its communications and connectivity technology to smaller equipment users and owners. “For example, Komatsu is unique in offering our KOMTRAX remote monitoring technology throughout our range, including for our very smallest excavators.

“We’ve really gone the extra mile in extending this to our small equipment, which has been a huge benefit to our customers. “This is mainly due to the location and machine feedback information we are able to offer customers so they can better manage their assets – plus we can offer them assistance in quickly locating and recovering a Komatsu machine if it’s stolen,” he said.

In addition to highlighting its KOMTRAX technology and capabilities, Komatsu representatives will be on hand to talk about how the company can better help customers through its online technology offerings, including support, VR (virtual reality) training simulators, its online parts portal and its just-launched CMS (Condition Monitoring Services) online presence. “A large part of our stand at DDT will be dedicated to talking with customers and potential customers about how our integrated connectivity solutions can help them better manage and understand their Komatsu equipment,” Moroz said.

Throughout the DDT Expo, Komatsu will be running competitions where visitors and their families will have the chance to win prizes, and take advantage of show special offers.
