Explore how technology is shaping construction

A panel of experts at the world’s biggest construction expo, CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, will discuss how global technology is shaping the  industry.

The event is the centrepiece of the high-energy Ground Breakers Stage session to be held on Thursday, March 5, from 2-4pm in West Hall 108 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Designed as a rapid-fire series of expert briefings rather than a traditional panel, the session will open with remarks from John Somers, Vice President, Construction and Utility Sector, Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), and Matthew Abeles, Vice President, Construction Technology and Innovation, Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). The two will set the stage with a big picture look at how technological adoption, investment, and workforce dynamics are accelerating change across the construction ecosystem.

Following the opening discussion, each featured speaker will deliver a focused 15-minute presentation exploring how a specific trend will influence how infrastructure and commercial projects are designed, built, and managed. Topics will span artificial intelligence, robotics in construction technology, workforce training innovations, and cybersecurity considerations for connected job sites.

Featured presenters include leaders from across the construction innovation landscape:

“This format gives attendees concentrated access to the ideas and technologies shaping construction right now,” sJiohn said. “Each speaker brings a distinct perspective, allowing contractors, manufacturers, and industry stakeholders to walk away with practical insights they can apply immediately.”

Ground Breakers Stage programming at CONEXPO-CON/AGG highlights forward-looking solutions and cross-industry collaboration, connecting construction professionals with innovators driving productivity, safety and workforce development.

CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 will take place March 3–7, 2026, in Las Vegas, and brings together the people, equipment and ideas building the modern world.

Earthmoving Equipment Magazine will be present at the expo to report on several events.
