After months of intense competitions to decide the Australian state winners of the Cat® Global Operator Challenge, the next stage of the event is set to kick off.
The Asia Pacific Regional Semi-Final will take place on October 29-30 in Japan.
The Cat Challenge brings together the most skilled machine operators from around the world to compete in a series of demanding tasks that push their equipment knowledge, operating precision and safety focus to the limit.
The top three operators from the semi-final earn a place at the Global Final in Las Vegas in March 2026.
Representing Australia will be Tim Lamb from NSW, Max Harris from WA, Scott Habermann from SA, Shane Poole from Queensland, and Paul Doheny from Victoria. New Zealand will be represented by Mark Morley.
Tim, a plant operator with Daracon, said he was honoured to represent his company, dealer WesTrac, and all NSW operators at this level.
“I am so proud to be part of a company that invests in its operators and I’m excited to take on whatever Japan has to throw my way,” he said.
WesTrac, the official Cat dealer for NSW and host of the NSW State Final, played a key role in delivering a world-class event that showcased the region’s top operator talent.
WesTrac General Manager – Construction Industries, Jason Hall, said he was thrilled to see Tim take his skills to the international stage.
“The Global Operator Challenge is all about celebrating excellence in machine operation, and Tim’s performance is a testament to the strength of operators we see across NSW. We’ll be cheering him on every step of the way.”
Earthmoving Equipment Magazine will be present at the challenge and bring you up-to-date information and photos as the event progresses.
