engcon: Tilt the odds in your favour

engcon Australia has released its latest range of tiltrotators. And to back this up, the business ensures that customers have only the best aftermarket service.

engcon Australia continues to develop its product range to ensure its equipment keeps up to date with the latest technological advancements.

A prime example of this is engcon’s latest tiltrotator: the EC319,  a third generation model that has better support and increased precision in excavation work.

According to engcon Country Manager in Australia and New Zealand, Paul Brown, the range embraces an AI interface into the machines, enabling an efficient and smooth operating process.

“With an emphasis on technology and AI, the new tiltrotators have evolved with the rapid growth in the construction industry,” Paul said.

“The equipment works in more conjunction with the machine themselves. They are much easier to install, and much more user friendly than ever before.”

The self-learning, AI configuration system aims to optimise the configuration between the EC319 and the excavator.

Taking the tiltrotators to the next level, it helps contribute to a reduction of energy by 30 per cent, compared to the second generation of models.

It aims to reduce fuel consumption and energy requirements for the tiltrotator and attachments, making the excavator drive smoothly.

Operating at maximum efficiency with minimum oil flow, the EC319 incorporates engcon’s revolutionary load sensing hydraulic system.

EC319 features

The EC319 tiltrotator is a third generation model of engcon’s tiltrotators.

The EC319 is paired with the third-generation control system, the DC3, becoming engcon’s smartest and most technologically advanced system to date. The new proportional control system provides users with the opportunity to control the tiltrotator’s system remotely, as well as the options of track control, wheel steering, and boom slew.

“Machines are becoming smarter. The other OEM companies are starting to use a lot of their own technology,” Paul said.

“At engcon, we are aligned with creating high tech and competitive products.”

Part of the DC3 Control System, the engcon app enables remote access of the tiltrotator, and is available on both Apple iOS and Android phones. The DC3 control system aims to provide a safer working environment, with remote control access via Bluetooth to the engcon control app.

The next generation of tiltrotators are prepared for third party 2D/3D machine guiding systems, thanks to engcon’s ePS (Positioning System) with tilt and rotation sensors.

Through the ePS display in the cab, the operator can see the exact area to be excavated. The ePS display shows if the right amount of excavated material is excavated. This provides many benefits, including: reduced fuel consumption, less wear and tear on machines and tools, and time efficiency for other units that remove the excavated material.

The ePS is adapted for engcon’s proportional control system but can also be fitted to other earthmoving manufacturers with a machine weight from 4 tons.

The third generation tiltrotator system can sense the power requirement and increases hydraulic pressure when needed. The new valve block has a 60 l/min valve for each function. The EC319 has two valves for increased function, allowing the tiltrotators to deliver 120l/min.

In line with the tiltrotator products, the EC-Oil is an accessory that consists of a hydraulic manifold with hydraulics, electrical and central lubrication connection.

This automatic oil connector allows for instant tool and attachment changes directly from the tiltrotator cab. The EC-Oil connector ensures the quick switch of hydraulic tools and connection/disconnection of the tiltrotator.

For full compatibility with today’s modern excavator systems, engcon has incorporated a newly developed tilt and rotation sensor as a standard in this third generation tiltrotator.

The sensors contain one of the market’s first “absolute” sensors and have a Plug and Play solution for both integrated and third-party machine control systems. Customers who operate multiple machines can set up their unique profiles, allowing them to quickly customize their machines with their personal settings.

After-sales support

Paul said that engcon’s after-market service is what makes the company’s products worth investing in.

“Our aftermarket support, the spare parts support and the range of sales staff across Australia is second to none,” he said.

“Everything in earthmoving breaks down at some point in time. The biggest praise we get is our efficiency in helping our customers and our dealers.”

The innovative design of engcon products are designed to be reliable and energy efficient. The after-sales support distinguishes engcon from its competitors.

“We don’t have a lot of issues with our products. Our products are reliable and solid, but we hear the most praise around our back-up support that we offer,” Paul said.

“We have an internal tech support and warranty support officers. Our spare parts division and our external ESPs (engcon Service Provider) all work together to provide the best support for our customers.

“We deliver really intricate training to our sales staff in order for them to relay that information quickly to our customers.”

National Diesel, Dirt & Turf Expo 2025

Visitors to the DDT Expo 2025 in May can visit the engcon stand to view the company’s latest products, including the EC319.

“We will have all of our tiltrotators on display. We will have the new EC02 basics all the way to our 233,” Paul said.

“Our staff and engineers will be at the Expo ready to answer any questions the Expo goers may have.”
