The Civil Contractors Federation NSW (CCF NSW) has recognised the state’s leading civil construction projects and contractors at the 2026 Earth Awards, celebrating excellence across eight categories spanning major infrastructure, transport, water and community projects.
Taking out the top honour in the category for projects valued at more than $150 million was the AeroWest joint venture, comprising Seymour Whyte and BMD Group, for its work on the Landside Civil and Building Works Package at Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport. The project delivered the enabling infrastructure required for the new airport, which is set to welcome its first travellers this year.
In the $75 million to $150m category, Haslin Constructions was recognised for the Eurobodalla Southern Storage Dam project, which has strengthened water security for communities on the NSW South Coast.
Daracon Group secured the award for projects valued between $30m and $75m for its work on Coulsons Creek Road (MR358), restoring critical road infrastructure in the Upper Hunter region.
Quickway Construction was named the winner in the $10m to $30m category for the replacement of the Tatham Twin Bridges in the Northern Rivers, a project that improves connectivity and flood resilience for local communities.
The award for projects valued between $5m and $10m went to Clyde Civil for the Tallawong Public School Civil and Public Domain Works project, which delivered the enabling civil infrastructure and public domain works for the new school in Sydney’s north-west.
Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure claimed the title in the $2m to $5m category for the Warragamba Radial Gate Control Measures project, an upgrade to Sydney’s primary drinking water supply infrastructure at Warragamba Dam.
In the category for projects valued at up to $2m, MGP Civil was recognised for the Menangle Stage 3 Aqueduct project (pictured above), which delivered new wastewater infrastructure to support growth in the Campbelltown-Camden region.
The People’s Choice Award was presented to PWG Infrastructure Pty Ltd for the West Dapto Package 3 Lot B Wastewater Infrastructure Upgrade, a project supporting essential services in the Wollongong region.
CCF NSW chief executive officer Kylie Yates said civil contractors play a critical but often overlooked role in delivering the infrastructure that underpins modern life.
“Civil contractors are the unsung heroes of construction. They are the first on site, delivering the enabling works that make major projects possible and providing the roads, rail connections and infrastructure that communities rely on every day,” she said.
She said this year’s winners demonstrated both technical excellence and a commitment to delivering long-term benefits for the communities they serve.
“From major airport infrastructure and water security projects to bridge replacements and wastewater upgrades, these projects showcase the breadth and importance of civil construction across New South Wales,” she said.
“CCF NSW is proud to recognise the outstanding achievements of our winners and finalists and congratulate them on their contribution to the industry.”
