DDT Golf Day Supports Fire Fighters’ Family

Construction industry rallies to help families of heroes who died protecting our community.

The National Diesel Dirt &Turf Expo is not only Australia’s largest construction and earthmoving equipment Expo; it’s also a time when the industry meets, networks and experiences a great feeling of fellowship.

Funds for Families of Disaster

Australia’s disastrous fire season has seen much personal tragedy and when volunteer firefighters lose their own people in the line of duty, families are seriously impacted.

This year, all proceeds from the National Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo golf day will go directly to the families of Geoff Keaton and Andrew O’Dwyer, the two fire fighters from the Horsley Park Rural Fire Service and the family of Samuel McPaul of the Morven Rural Fire Brigade who all lost their lives earlier this year.

A Tradition of Giving

Established in 2018, the Diesel Dirt &Turf Expo golf day has raised money for MIRAA House, a not for profit, learning and life skills centre that offers a post school program for women with an intellectual disability.

In 2019, the golf day raised money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation, sponsored by Digga Australia.

The 2020 Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo annual charity golf day is being held on Friday the 20th of March at the championship Twin Creeks Golf and Country Club at Luddenham. Golf teams enjoy an early breakfast, followed by a putting competition with prizes before hitting off.

“It’s a great way to build networking with others in the industry and enjoying a great day while raising money for charity” said expo manager Marti Zivkovich.

In addition to funds raised by the entry green fees, there is a raffle for amazing prizes, with loads of others to be won for nearest the pin, longest drive and more.

An Annual Event for The Industry

Many people look forward to this national expo that continues to attract large crowds from the earthmoving, construction and related industries, their colleagues, associates and friends who come to check out the latest technology and special expo prices.

The dates for the 2020 National Diesel Dirt &Turf Expo are Friday 15th to Sunday 17th May. This popular venue is conveniently located at the centre of Western Sydney. Entry to the Expo is free and there’s plenty of free parking, lots of accommodation for people planning a visit over several days and easy access by freeway and public transport.
