CJD growth calls for Port Hedland expansion

CJD Equipment is pleased to announce that construction of the new Port Hedland office has commenced. In the past CJD Equipment operated its Parts and Service facilities out of two separate locations. As a result of CJD Equipment’s continued growth in Port Hedland, a decision was made in 2011 to construct a new purpose built facility on the block where the Service Department is currently situated in Manganese St.

On the 1st of August 2014, project builders Karratha Contracting conducted the first concrete pour for the new $8 million CJD Equipment facility in Port Hedland. This first step represented a significant milestone in what will be an enormous contribution to the Pilbara region on behalf of CJD Equipment.

CJD Equipment’s Managing Director Alan Barnett explains, “We are really excited about this project. It has been in the pipeline for a while and we are really looking forward to significantly increasing our parts holding by over 40%. We will also be able to enhance our service offering with the addition of 8 new service bays, full overhead crane and service pit. Our Customer Support facility is state of the art and our ability to provide service for trucks as well as earthmoving and construction equipment has certainly improved”.

With building finished and the interior fit out underway, the new premise is expected to be completed over the Christmas/New Year period.

CJD Equipment is the Western Australian Dealer for Kenworth and DAF trucks and the Australian National Distributor of Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Penta Industrial Engines as well as SDLG Wheel Loaders. Alan goes on to say, “CJD Equipment is proud to be a part of growing Port Hedland community. As a business we are already involved in a number of local events and charities in the region. We are pleased that this new, larger facility will be responsible for further job opportunities in the local community. With our ability to offer sales, parts and service for such a wonderful range of world-class products, things look bright for the future.” CJD Equipment’s Managing Director Alan Barnett explains, “We are really excited about this project.
