New acquisition for leading global manufacturer in groundbreaking attachments.

One of the world’s leading manufacturers of excavator attachments – Miller UK Ltd – has announced the acquisition of an Australian-based earthmoving equipment and repairs specialist.

Launched in 2013, Miller Australia – stemming from Miller UK Ltd – is recognised for supplying the safest, most advanced buckets and quick hitches on the marketplace from its base in New South Wales. The company has now acquired Victorian-based New Generation Design Fabrication (NGDF) to significantly enhance its aftermarket capabilities and customer support in the Australian marketplace.

Now known as Miller I NGDF, the strategic move allows the business to increase its presence across a wider geographic area, with a significant stock and production increase of quick hitches and buckets that are now readily available in more territories, as well as bolstering after sales and customer support with a dedicated site solutions facility in Melbourne for heavy plant and attachment repairs and refurbishment.

The acquisition of NGDF further solidifies Miller’s position to be the global leader in attachments for the wide range of markets it operates in.

Miller I NGDF facilities in Melbourne and Sydney will enable the company to service a wider area.

James Ross, Commercial Director at Miller UK Ltd said: “We are delighted to have acquired NGDF as part of our tactical growth plans. With a well-established base already in Australia, a growing customer base, and over a decade’s worth of experience in this marketplace, we have a firm understanding of the market’s specification applications and have significantly invested in strengthening our product portfolio specifically for the Australian market.

“Combining our strong local knowledge with technologies that are globally proven, our equipment is ideally aligned with modern Australian practices and site conditions. As such, we believe our groundbreaking attachment solutions, that have been tested and optimised for even the harshest of conditions, are the very best in class and ideally suited for any industry in Australia.

“Our mission – throughout the business at every level – is to provide exceptional customer service. Through acquiring NGDF, this will allow us to do exactly that, as we will now have greater local support and aftermarket services with dedicated facilities enabling us to provide a reactive and customer focused service.”

Miller I NGDF facilities, located in Melbourne, complements Miller’s first facility in Sydney and houses state-of-the-art hydraulic and welding equipment, which will enable the company to significantly enhance its aftermarket service. Miller I NGDF has ambitious plans to invest further in these facilities and bolster staff numbers at the premises, which currently already comprises a team of experienced technicians specialising in troubleshooting and providing strong aftermarket support.

David Aldridge, General Manager at Miller I NGDF – who possesses extensive experience in manufacturing and facilities operational management – said: “We have a strong track record in the field and Miller’s expertise and capabilities will enable our local business to grow with the backing of a global attachment powerhouse, while also further strengthening our knowledge base and capabilities to operate to international standards.”

Miller I NGDF will be supplying its quick hitches – GT series – and buckets to a range of markets from construction, mining, and forestry, through to waste, paving, industrial, and landscaping.

At the company’s bases in Melbourne and Sydney, it will continue to deliver heavy plant and attachment repairs, while also supplying its extensive product range from these facilities.
