Bobcat M2-Series Compact Loaders and R-Series Excavators

Bobcat

Bobcat Company has introduced the new M2-Series skid-steer loaders to Australia.

M2-Series compact loaders offer a variety of performance, operator comfort and visibility enhancements to help increase operator productivity and provide enhanced uptime protection. The overall M2-Series line-up includes Bobcat® 400-, 500-, 600-, 700- and 800-frame-size skid-steer loaders, as well as compact track and all-wheel steer loaders.

ENHANCED AUTOMATIC RIDE CONTROL OPTION

Landscapers will appreciate the ability to turn the automatic ride control option on or off from inside the skid steer cab for added convenience. Previously, the ride control option was turned on or off using a valve accessed by opening the loader’s tailgate. Operators can now press a switch to toggle between auto and off. When the auto mode is selected, the system will work at any travel speed. The ride control function is automatically activated by detecting increased hydraulic lift arm pressure when the loader is carrying material.

Automatic ride control reduces spillage, allowing operators to travel at faster speeds for increased productivity. Thanks to its dampening effect, the option also increases comfort by offering a smoother ride, and is optimised for each Bobcat loader frame size.

REVERSING FAN OPTION CLEARS DEBRIS

A new reversing fan option available for M2-Series loaders enables operators to temporarily reverse the cooling fan direction to blow dust and small debris from the radiator and rear screens. This M2-Series loader option helps to minimise downtime and can reduce the cooling area cleaning frequency. Operators can choose from the following three operating modes:

• Automatic: Reverses fan direction at a regular frequency to keep the loader’s engine coolant and hydraulic oil at proper operating temperatures

• Manual: Purges material at the operator’s discretion

• And Off

CAB DESIGN ENHANCES COMFORT

M2-Series loaders feature new front and rear cab isolators, door seals and side screen dampers. These design elements reduce noise, vibration and dust inside the loader cab. Also, a new lift cylinder cushioning feature slows down the loader arms before they reach the lift arm stops for smoother movements and increased operator comfort.

Another operator comfort enhancement that is a standard feature for 600- and 700-frame-size M2-Series loaders is a low-effort hydrostatic pump. The new pump reduces drive lever effort by as much as 25 per cent. Bobcat compact loaders equipped with standard controls or the Advanced Control System (ACS) use this new pump, which will help decrease operator fatigue, especially when operators are in the loader for extended periods.

IMPROVED VISIBILITY

Also improving visibility is a redesign of the top window of the loader’s cab. The redesign improves operator visibility with a 34 per cent increase in viewable area. This is beneficial when loading material into a high-sided truck or silage into a mixer. In addition, the new design allows for easier top window cleaning, and still meets all of the safety standards for ROPS and FOPS.

TIER-4 S850 GETS HORSEPOWER BOOST TO 100

M2-Series S850 skid-steer loaders now come standard with 100hp Bobcat engines, which is a 9 per cent increase from the prior iteration. The horsepower boost provides increased attachment performance in demanding applications, including operating high-flow auxiliary hydraulic attachments such as forestry cutters and planers. It also delivers more power to operate high-flow auxiliary hydraulic attachments at higher ground speeds during attachment operation, increasing operator productivity.

NEW DECALS

M2-Series loaders feature new, larger model decals for improved readability. Larger decals can more easily be seen from a distance to help identify model numbers, which can be useful on large work sites or areas where multiple loaders are operating.

Bobcat R-Series Excavators

Bobcat

Next generation Bobcat excavators feature design, performance and comfort enhancements.

Bobcat Company has enhanced its industry-leading compact excavators with the all-new, next generation R-Series excavators. Featuring a bold, distinct design, R-Series excavators will help boost operator productivity and comfort, as well as machine uptime protection.

The first R-Series excavators to land in spring will include the Bobcat® E32 and E35 in the popular 3- to 4-tonne size class.

Bobcat Company has more than three decades of experience manufacturing excavators and incorporated customer feedback in the latest generation to make the excavators even better than the prior M-Series. Bobcat excavators are used in a variety of market segments, including construction, landscaping, utilities, infrastructure, rental and agriculture, to complete tasks where larger equipment can’t fit, or work that was previously done by hand.

INCREASED OVER-THE-SIDE STABILITY

R-Series excavator operators can dig with greater confidence over the side of the machine with a standard dual-flange track roller system. The new dual-flange rollers extend the excavator’s undercarriage structure closer to the track’s edge and provide up to a 15 per cent increase in over-the-side capacity and more stability. This improves over-the-side digging performance and slewing ability to help boost productivity.

SIMPLE SERVICEABILITY

A new, integrated rear counterweight design lowers the excavator’s centre of gravity to further enhance machine stability. The design maintains wide-open access to the engine for daily maintenance checks.

HIGH-QUALITY FINISH

The new R-Series excavators feature strengthened hinges and latches, and rigid, aligned excavator panels to reduce vibration in the cab, especially when working on rough surfaces.

UNBEATABLE OPERATOR EXPERIENCE

Offering one of the largest cab openings in the industry, Bobcat has redesigned its R-Series excavator cab for an unbeatable operator experience. The tall, wide widows have 15 per cent more surface area, which includes an improved top window and narrower side pillars for visibility that’s never been better. Operators can get a better view of the excavator’s workgroup and surrounding areas with expanded visibility from the cab. A new sun visor over the top window shields operator’s eyes from the sun on bright days.

There is 29 per cent more floor space in R-Series compact excavators for the operator’s feet and legs than previous models, and redesigned floor pedals conveniently fold away. The seat and cab are also wider, allowing for plenty of elbow room all day long. Operators will appreciate the new automatic heat and air conditioning systems for complete control over the cab climate.

The R-Series excavator cabs also have a variety of other comfort and performance enhancements:

• Tread step for firmer footing when getting in or out of the cab

• Removable floor mats for easy cab cleaning

• Internal storage compartments to store gloves and other personal items

• High-quality joystick material for easy, comfortable grips

• Polycarbon window for a clear overhead view of the jobsite

• Level 1 FOPS canopy if operators prefer an open machine with a tough frame
