Dynapac’s Rhino range comprises four models — CA50, CA55, CA65 and CA70 — engineered for use in large-scale infrastructure projects including roadworks, airfields, dam construction, and industrial developments.
With these additions, Dynapac extends its soil compaction portfolio into the 18-, 20- and 22-tonne classes, complementing its established 6–12t machines (CA15, CA25, CA30 and CA35).
This broader line-up positions Dynapac CEA to better meet the requirements of Australia’s construction sector, where productivity, reliability, and cost efficiency remain key priorities.
At the core of the Rhino series is a Cummins engine, delivering up to 24 per cent more power than previous models. Available in Tier 2, Tier 3 and Stage 4 emission configurations, the turbocharged, water-cooled six-cylinder engines are designed to balance output with fuel efficiency, supporting both performance and environmental considerations.
Operator-focused design
Emphasis has been placed on operator experience, with design improvements aimed at boosting productivity and reducing fatigue.
The operator station features a 35 per cent increase in glass area, enhancing visibility across the worksite. A swivel seat with up to 60-degree rotation, combined with ergonomic controls, ensures improved comfort and control during extended operating periods.
For low-light conditions, four high-output LED work lights mounted on the ROPS or cab provide illumination, supporting safe and efficient night operations.
The intuitive human-machine interface (HMI) and simplified start-up procedures also enable operators to transition quickly between machines, minimising downtime.
Smart compaction capability
The Rhino range can be factory-fitted with Dynapac’s Compaction Meter (DCM), enabling real-time monitoring of compaction performance.
Using integrated sensor technology, the system measures ground stiffness, helping operators achieve uniform compaction and reduce the risk of weak spots. In addition to improving quality outcomes, the technology can contribute to fuel savings of up to 25 per cent, while also lowering carbon dioxide emissions.

Serviceability and fleet management
Ease of maintenance has been prioritised to reduce service time and maximise machine availability. Key service points are accessible from ground level, allowing routine tasks such as filter changes and fluid checks to be completed quickly and safely.
The integration of Dyn@link telematics enhances operational oversight, providing real-time data on machine performance, location, and service intervals. This supports proactive maintenance planning, improved asset utilisation, and increased site security.
Built for Australian conditions
Designed with versatility in mind, the Rhino models are available with smooth or pad foot drum configurations, as well as optional pad foot shells. This flexibility enables contractors to adapt machines to a range of soil types and project requirements.
