Australia’s premier infrastructure Expo, CIVENEX 2014, will attract thousands of interstate, international and NSW visitors at Sydney Dragway, Eastern Creek on May 14 and 15

This will be the 59th annual CIVENEX staged by the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPEWA NSW) and according to IPWEA Chief Executive Officer, John Roydhouse, this year’s Expo will be bigger and better than ever.

CIVENEX is worth millions of dollars – especially to Rural NSW and Western Sydney – in terms of sales generation, rolling out technology developments and supporting small and large business.

Attracting more than 300 companies exhibiting equipment, materials and services valued at millions of dollars, thousands of private contractors, local government engineers, works officers and trades people attend this annual event to keep up with the latest trends in equipment.

As John Roydhouse explains: “CIVENEX enables IPWEA (NSW) to provide continuing professional development services to its members and to donate funds to the Foundation for the Technical Advancement of Local Government Engineering in New South Wales.”

The mission of the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (NSW) is to enhance the quality of life in NSW Communities through excellence in public works and services; foster the personal and professional growth of its members; facilitate the development and exchange of ideas, information and technology and to promote excellence in the delivery of sustainable Public Works and Services.

IPWEA (NSW) is a not-for-profit organisation with strategic alliances with many groups, including the Water Directorate and the Roads and Transport Directorate.

CIVENEX has been brought “in house” by Mr Roydhouse, who recently appointed highly experienced exhibitions organizer, Toni-Lee Game, as CIVENEX Event Manager.

Toni-Lee is already taking exhibitor registrations, welcoming back returning exhibitors as well as the many new exhibitors from multi-national, national and smaller businesses all eager to ensure that they can obtain great sites at CIVENEX 2014.

“As usual, we will attempt to satisfy exhibitor preferences, but I do urge companies who want specific sites to register early,” she added.

CIVENEX provides a unique opportunity for equipment and services users to compare a wide range of products and services, in one all-weather location.

“It’s also an opportunity to see products demonstrated on a live construction site, meet asset management, GIS and consulting firms, and exchange tips on everything – from how to find the best deals, to finance and maintenance practices”, Mr Roydhouse added.

CIVENEX has extended its scope in recent years to include the very popular live demonstration area and exhibitor awards. The event has evolved into a valuable information resource for local government engineers, contractors and trades people from all levels of Government and the private sectors.

Exhibitors and visitors see CIVENEX as a prime opportunity to network with decision-makers across all relevant disciplines – from engineering, construction, paving and pipes, to water, environmental, power and more. The relocation and expansion of the demonstration area into the main exhibition area proved a great success, as did the new Members Lounge and both will be expanded in 2014,” says John Roydhouse.

“Exhibitors and IPWEA members enjoy the friendly surrounds of the Members’ Lounge and it’s a great place to network and socialise with key players.

“As Greater Western Sydney grows, so does CIVENEX and its value for exhibitors and visitors. More exhibition areas, a dedicated demonstration zone, easy access from anywhere in the State or from overseas and unlimited free parking combine make CIVENEX 2014 a must-see event.

“It’s certainly the one-stop shop for all industry professionals, whether Owner-Operator, Council, Public Utility or Private Contractor.”

To assist exhibitors and visitors to pre-register or search for answers to their questions, the CIVENEX website has been revised and expanded to provide a much better source of information, with exhibitor application resources as well as the newsletter subscription, to keep you informed of the latest product and services news and CIVENEX 2014 event updates.
