All New 9-Tonne Swivel Site Dumper from Terex

Any contractor with experience using the Terex TA6-S site dumper doesn’t need any further evidence of the value and reliable performance of these ruggedly built machines.

Their simplicity of operation, ability to handle all types of terrain, easy serviceability and load capacity has made them a favourite on all types of Australian construction sites.

People have consistently been looking for swivel dumpers of higher load capacity, so Terex has added a 9-tonne power swivel model to its range; the new TA9-S, as well as updating its full line of site dumpers.

“Until now Terex has only offered swivel skips on models up to 6 tonnes. Increasingly and for some time, contractors have been asking us for a 9-tonne swivel site dumper as well as our straight tip-skip 9-tonne models,” said Chris Wolf, national sales and marketing manager for Terex Compact Equipment national distributor, ASV Sales & Service.

“The new TA9S is an excellent option for large civil and rail projects, as well as any tight access site that requires a load and carry haul segment.”

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION IMPROVEMENTS

The latest release of these 9 and 6-tonne swivel skip machines features high performance, reliable, low emission Tier 4F water-cooled diesel engines for smooth and economic performance.

Standard features of the Terex TA9S include a folding ROPS frame, reversing alarm, flashing beacon, towing/recovery bracket, leg guard, hour meter, seat belt in hi-vis orange, a fore/aft and back angle adjustable seat that adapts to the operator’s weight, heavy duty articulation lock and high flotation tyres. Like all the Terex dumpers, the TA9S is equipped with large wideopening service doors that Terex said are best in class for access.

Available as optional equipment to order on the TA9S are road lights to RMS specifications, front light guards and a rear-view mirror.

In addition to improvements to the transmission design, a focus on performance and fuel efficiency has meant that while horsepower has been reduced, these new engines being used in all models from 6 tonnes upwards have been designed to produce more torque at lower RPMs.

Operators will immediately notice stronger traction and more responsiveness, together with better fuel efficiency.

The TA6S has proven its ability to be very capable in rough terrain, thanks to its high ground clearance. Also, unchanged in the new model is the vehicle’s industry-leading skip volume, contributing to a machine that has been designed to maximise productivity on any job site.

HIGH PERFORMANCE; HIGH OUTPUT

This new Terex dumper range demonstrates exceptional off-road performance, thanks to a high specification hydrostatic design that delivers power smoothly to the wheels for excellent ground holding and safety.

Large oscillation angles help to maximise wheel to ground contact. This means that greater traction is achieved to optimise the machine’s excellent off-road performance for higher productivity.

Holding a load on a hill is aided by Active Hydrostatic braking technology. This improved braking capability from Terex delivers significant operational benefit when the dumper is required to working on gradients. Having no gear stick or clutch pedal to manage adds to operator comfort by ensuring the operator can just concentrate on managing and positioning the load throughout long and demanding shifts.

HASSLE-FREE AND RENTAL RUGGED

Terex said its machines are built to withstand the rigours of the demanding equipment rental market, as clearly demonstrated by the range’s heavy-duty chassis and skip construction that ensures years of troublefree operation and high resale value.

Simple automotive style controls enable less experienced operators to use the TA9S, making it ideal as a ‘rental proof’ machine.

When it comes to the daily service procedures and other scheduled maintenance, service technicians or rental customers will appreciate the easy service access. Ground level access simplifies routine checking of fluids. Chassis and engine canopies are securely mounted on heavy-duty hinges, which can be locked with high specification latches for added protection.
