Alemlube builds new Western Down Civil workshop

Workshop and lubrication equipment specialist Alemlube recently completed a workshop installation for  Queensland-based construction company Western Down Civil.

It’s another feather in the cap for the business, whose core offerings include a specialised workshop fit-out service, which includes custom workshop design and consultation, installation of exhaust extraction equipment and bulk oil storage solutions – anything a customer might require to maintain a fleet.

According to Alemlube Workshop Fit-outs Manager for Qld/PNG, Michael Clack, the client requested a complete turnkey solution for a compressed air system, oil storage and dispensing systems and robust fit for purpose service gantries.

“Knowing that we had just moved into a new fabrication workshop of our own with state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment, the possibilities felt limitless,” he said.

“The design stage began with receiving an indicative floor from the client.  Alemlube then assisted with the underground service plans through to the overall layout of the equipment and above ground services in the workshop.

“In some cases it can be difficult to communicate what a finished workshop will look and feel like, so the design team put together a complete 3D fully textured walk through for Western Downs Civil.”

Michael said the service gantry frames are the centerpiece of this workshop fit-out. The client had requested a “T” style heavy duty frame to divide the service bays and provide air, oils, coolant and waste oil suction for each bay.

So, he said the Alemlube design team went to work and delivered what can only be described as “the king of service gantries”.

“With laser cut 1.6mm steel sheet and heavy duty bolted construction, this gantry frame was designed entirely with our client needs in mind,” he said.

“Fully loaded, this 850kg 9 reel gantry frame is built for truck and heavy vehicle workshops and ticked all the boxes.”

Western Downs Civil wanted a better and safer way to store and dispense oil. Alemlube designed and manufactured three 2000L new oil bench tanks and a 4000L waste oil tank.

“They were manufactured from 5mm mild steel and coated satin black as per the customer’s request,” Michael said.

Keeping staff comfort and efficiency in mind, WDC opted to install two large 7.3m high volume low speed ceiling fans which Alemlube was more than happy to supply and install while on site.

“All in all the customer was extremely satisfied with the supply and installation by Alemlube,” Michael said.
